Milgram's Experiment

Sophomore year English and Senior Sociology have both talked about Milgram's Experiment. Milgrams Experiment is the idea that people when told to do so, by a higher up person, will inflict harm on another person. One way this was shown was at a prestige college a couple professors asked people to come to the college and engage in a test. One person was in charge of asking the questions to another person. If the person answering the question got a question wrong the asking the questions would give them an electric shock. The person giving the shock could stop any time they wanted and knew what they were doing. I believe that if this was me I would not take any part in this. What they were doing was completely wrong. When the experiment was over Milgram found that over %60 of people went through with it.

First day of Sociology!

I was very excited to be taking Sociology my senior year, because I wanted to know why people and I did the things we did. Also, why certain things influenced people in the ways they do. One question that I have heard several times within the last couple days is, "are people naturally good or evil"? This question puzzles me a lot. One response I have to the question is that whether people are naturally good or evil they are naturally selfish. I believe this is true until one may reach motherhood. I believe people will do things for themselves so that they will reach there end goal, what ever that it, and then worry about the "little people".
