Marrige

What sociological factors, except race, might be causing differences in different marriage rates between black and whites?

i think that how a person was raised deals with marriage. if a person was brought up in a good middle to upper class family, with two parents and maybe siblings they are more likely to want to have a family and get married when they are older. but, some people are brought up with either a mom or a dad and usually no siblings. i think when people don't grow up in a good household they don't think they will have one that will succeed either.

Social Class

I consider my family in the middle to upper class. i live in buffalo grove and both my parents have jobs. my dad is a VP of marketing in his job and my mom runs a daycare out of our house. people that have alot of money and a huge house aren't always the happiest people. sometimes money can bring some happiness. but when people start putting themselves and things they buy before there family then what happens when they don't have money anymore and there family isn't there. i understand that although money is nice to have, getting a job and making money and having my own money to have rather than asking for it from my mom and dad all the time is alot better. knowing the value of a dollar rather then spending large amounts of money on nothing is something everyone needs to learn.

Deviance and the World

I think sometimes punishable deviance is a social construct. some people need to be put in confines to realize that what they did was wrong and that they can fix their lives. there can only be so much done to help a person who needs it with punishable deviance. the punishable deviance needs to fit the crime. when people are in jail they are usually treated poorly by shoving more than the amount in a jail cell. the food is awful and their is alot of time to do nothing. i think they need to be helping out in the world but severly supervised.
