School and our Neighborhood-- rachel t. and leah

Our families help us with our attitudes and our family values. We attend school to help us use those things we learned at home to further our careers and knowledge in the outside world. School teachers, students and neighbors keep us grounded and show us the way our lives should be lead. we decide what we are going to do after being told what is "right" or "wrong".

Religion- in my american life

Growing up with religion basically already given to me wasn't hard. I went to church with the rest of my family and grew up in sunday and monday night school, learing more and more about my culture. I loved being Greek. Most of my friends were Jewish or Christian and all I knew was I was Greek Orthodox which was a part of Christianity. Being Greek has change the way I do things in my life. Like going to parties, who I hang out with and how I view myself and other individuals. There are many different religions in America. I have learned growing up in church how to accept other people no matter what they believe. I embrace all different types of languages. As a teenager I went to many bar/bat mitzah's*. I learned a little about each culture and took everything.
